If the reader isn’t giving their character 100%, then the talent self-taping should always go above and beyond in their performance. However, there is silver lining, in that, it’s far better than having the Casting Director like your performance, but they really want to know who your reader is… So, if your reader is lacking, make a conscious decision to give the Casting Director something the won’t easily forget.
